《Reflections》

aquafell:

My pleasure, Aqua extended a lithe hand in her introduction. My name is Mas.. She nearly began to say her title, but shook her head to scratch what she said. Inwardly, she berated herself mentally for sounding so forward. It’s just Aqua. It’s nice to meet you, Laguna. Although I apologize—I would have worn something more suiting had I known I was going to have a date today.

Aqua wasn’t exactly the most smooth person when it came to the dating game, but she knew enough to tell when someone was interested in her. Laguna seemed alright, so she would give him a chance. I wasn’t exactly vying for attention, but I’m not going to turn down an offer for dinner, Teasing him for his assumption, the woman exhibited just a morsel of her sass. So, what’s that new restaurant you were talking about? I haven’t heard of one being built…where exactly is it?

Although Aqua wasn’t the most social, she was updated on things going on in the town, so a new restaurant would have definitely caught her attention. Either way, I’m eager to try out their food—I’m actually kinda starving. Admitting sheepishly, she shrugged with a small laugh. You can tell me about the carnival while we make our way there.

Laguna laughed a bit, feeling the same way about the clothing. Sure it was a mess for painting the banners and boards back in the university, and he didn’t have any extra shirt nor pants to go with. His laundry schedule is next week, and some of his clothes were painted (or glittered) over for the festival. “That’s alright, Aqua. You’re not alone in this kind of situation.”, he chuckled, pointing out the paint stains on his shirt. “But you’re very pretty tonight, I must say. Me? I look like a art wreck, if ya ask me."

His eyes widened as he heard her, his hands waved quickly. "U-Uh, th-that’s not what you’re thinkin’, Aqua. It’s just that… I like helping, it’s… it’s in my nature. Gotta help someone in need. Hehe.” He blushed, feeling embarrassed about this situation. “Um… this new restaurant… I think it’s called "The Silver Clam”. Wait, it’s actually The Garden Clam. I wanted to try their soup with seaweed crackers. Who ever made those crackers, right?“

Laguna shrugged. "Alright, let’s go eat at The Garden Clam!”, he smiled, offered his hand for her to hold as he walked. “Well, it’s actually a half-half. Half-festival, half-carnival sort of way. Man, the mayor in town is just cranky to get it going, but summer’s just coming up, and my classmates and I couldn’t study for our finals and it’s just… it’s just frustrating to do two things at the same time. Why can’t the teachers do the festival instead of us studying for the test? Ya know what I mean, right, Aqs?"
